First day of School
My course starts at 930am today. That would mean i need to take the tram to Kurfensplatz, which is about 9 tram stops away, according to my landlady its just 10-15 mins away. AND that would also mean i need to buy the train ticket again. Woke up at 3 am tod

ay, still suffering from Jet Lag. Its not as bad as i thought, but still quite irritating since i am totally exhausted after like 7pm. Took the time to write my previous post and chatted with my friends in Europe (London) and US. Yeah, they dun need to sleep too. Anyway, back to train tickets. 7 am sharp, i grabbed my coat and camera and went out to get breakfast from the Bakery opposite my home. Pretty easy, "ich hatte gern eine blah blah" (i would like a blah blah) and pointed at the piece of sugar coated with jam in the middle bread. It costs as much as a bowl of BAH CHOR MEE in singapore. Sigh.....Ate it on the way to the train station. Arrived at the station at about quarter past 7, checked out the automated ticket machine, couldn't find the ticket i needed! Saw me in a daze, a nice lady approached me a

nd asked if i needed any help in English! Awesome. Told me that the ticket i need can only be purchased at the ticket counter, which opens at 8 am. so decided to take a short walk around the train station. Wandered off to the south. Took abit of photos and decided to head back to the station. Too cold for my liking. Back at the train station at about 10 mins to

8. The ticket counter is already opened! Couldn't think in the cold, so told the girl what i needed in english, with a little translation. This ticket allows me to travel with unlimited trip, but restricted to 2 zones in the city center for a week. Good enough for me to reach school and visit all the HUMONGOUS churches in the area. Headed back after that. Chatted abit with my sisters, before heading out for school again.
Taking the tram for the first time, it was indeed quite an experience. Its lite

rally like a MRT on the road. It is manned though, so i dun think it will crash into cyclists or reckless pedestrains who dash across the roads (like me). Speaking of that, i noticed that Germans dont really Jay walk like we singaporeans do. They will WAIT, or go one big round just to use the crossings. Wonder if its a rule..hmm.. Spotted a few McDonalds along the way, must check it out. Indeed after 15 mins, i arrived at Kurfensplatz. Recognising the yellowish building from the photos on its website, i found it the moment i alighted.
Class
Class started

punctually at 930 am. Am always impressed with their punctuality. Perhaps i should check if their tram timetable is really accurate one fine day. Anyway, i have 7 other classmates. One from Finland, one from Italy , one from Norway, Brazil , Croatia , England and the last one forgot from where, but it didn;t matter. Haha. Meine Lehrerins name ist Alda. Very nice teacher, definitely comparable to Goethe back in Singapore. So for those who are interested or as crazy as me, TANDEM IS GOOD! Perhaps they should reimburse me for this advertisment. Anyway, all of them is very friendly! Joined them for another bread during the break, and durin

g that we spoke only GERMAN. Didn't say alot though. Its really a whole new experience here. Class ended as punctually as it started. Had lunch at this shop near the school all by myself! Schweinbratwurst, mit Kartoffel puree (like marshpotato) und Sauerkrau

t. Didn't like the sauerkraut. To be frank, it almost made me puke. Tried to to finish it by mixing the marshpotato with the sauerkraut and stuffing it down my throat. But it was unbearable. The sauages were good though. Costs me 4.40 eur. Trust me, thats the cheapest meal i saw that day. Yah yah cheapo me i can hear you saying already. More to come for i am the BARGAIN HUNTER! Went back after lunch, to talk to my mum through webcam. She took half an hour to find the accept button for the video conference.. sigh.
Exploration
Weather

is almost perfect today. Sun wasn't really shining, but it wasn't raining. So begin my second foray into the neighbourhood of Munich. This time round i will be going further. So much so that i got lost. HAHA. this time round i started off looking for Cheap supermarket. According to this really nice malaysian who is i

nviting me to this Singaporean/Malaysian group over this coming weekend, that "PLUS" is a cheap supermarket. Using the GOOGLE EARTH, i located a few in munich, so decided to check out the one closest to my home, a few blocks away. It was a heaven for me. seriously. 1 super big loaf of bread for just 1.10 eur. Thats cheaper than Gardenia la! Its going to be my breakfast for sometime. But since i was going to do some exploration, decided i would come

back for it later tonight. So continued on my journey. This time round, still without a map, but a better knowledge of the public transport system, i headed east. Again saw humongous churches but this time round, the shops are opened! So exciting, its like GTA going around trying to find shops! hahahh. Instead of those big shopping centers we have in Singapore, their shops line the street. Walked and walked and walk. Saw this departmental store, so though it should check it out. They were selling the winter clothing for like 15

eurs here la!! wth. then there was a basement, where the supermarket is. Kinda looked like cold storage, only much smaller but still much nicer compared to the PLUS. Bought a bottle of Jam, Spagetti and Spagetti sauce, and guess how much it cost? 2.70 eur!! SUPER CHEAP! looks like my training in singapore really helped. hahahah. when i came out, i realised that i was lost. =x So decided to hop on to one Tram and see where it brings me to. Saw the map on the tram and realised i was going in the wrong direction. =x. While it was moving, i saw another PLUS! So alighted immediately after that and back tracked. Got my loaf from that store. The sky was turning dark. Must get back soon

before i meet another weird character in this foreign land. Took the tram back to a station with connections from another tram that takes me back to my home. No sweat =) something abit off topic, but i noticed something about the way Germans drive. ITS FREAKING FAST. S

uper dangerous to Jay walk in Germany. And the streets are super narrow! Its really an amazing phenomenal, imgaine INDIA, instead of crazy motorcycles, its BMWs, MERCs, Audis and Porsches. Oh by the way, they have BMW 7 series and MERC S class as Taxis. the only motorcycles here i see are those that at 400cc and above. Crazy huh.
Home
When i reached h

ome, my Landlady has just returned from work too. She saw what i bought and offered to cook for me! So nice right!! luckily for her, the disgusting dinner was alright. Turned out that my spagetti sauce came in the powder form and there was no ingredient. So it was spagetti with tomato sauce. But most importantly, this is my first attempt at cooking my meal, so i helped her out by stirring the spagetti in the pot. haha! That kinda sums up my third day here in munich. Tomorrow shall be another journey, this time round to the famous Marianplatz. Till then. Aufwiederhoren!
sounds like u r really enjoying urself there huh? haha. check out my new blog at yoketing1999.blogspot.com. but there is no post yet. :)
