My First Post!

In 4 days will i embark on the greatest trip yet in my life to the Heart of Europe! Deutschland! So here is my blog, my way of remembering the most exciting yet intimidating part of my life YET! Yes i will be "studying" there, well not exactly, i would prefer to call it learning. At the same time, i hope to travel around (haven't got a chance to get out of south east asia in my 20 years of life) to find out whats on the other side of our beautiful Earth.

So... a little background about my trip. i will be living in Munich for the next 5 months to learn German.

Why German? Why not romantic French, suave Italian, glorious Japanese, exotic Spanish but crude sounding German(no offense)? Well, if you know me, i am a CAR fanatic and Germans build AWESOME cars. Actually germans build everything and do an incredible job at it! Cars, Guns, Optics, medical machines, colourpencils even soft toys(check out NICI)!. How can you not love them!?

Why all the way there? Because learning once a week in Singapore will take me another 2 years to reach a desired proficient level, WHICH i can do so in 5 months in Germany (i hope). plus you can never really learn the language till you're there! Right?

Can i survive? Erm. Good question. Coldest weather i've encountered was in Genting Highlands. 16 celcius? Furthest i went without my parents, Kuala Lumpur. Biggest meal i cooked, instant noodles with egg and meatballs. =x Longest i've been out of home, a stay-in week in camp? (wasn't there a 2 weeks stay-in in BMT? haha i came out on the second day. EAT THAT). But HEY, i have been out taking public buses on my own since i was 8!

They don't speak english? well, i have been taking up german lessons at Goethe since june 2008. so simple conversations of getting around, buying food, finding toilet should be fine. And thats not true, germans speak english as well! at least most of them do know how to, but they just prefer to stick to german. Just like our Singlish la!
Alright. i better get back to packing. need to find ways to pack in 3 pairs of shoes, 5 months of clothes, and all the chargers into my bag. Till then. Aufwiederhören!
