Englischer Garten!

Woke up to a beautiful day, sun was shining, sky was blue, weather was cool. Its the second Saturday since my arrival here in the beautiful city of Munich. Have always wanted to visited the Englischer Garten, supposedly the biggest park in Germany, some say Europe? Either way, its one of the must travel destination when you are here in Munich. In the summer there will be naked people sun tanning in the middle of the park, but i heard old people formed the majority. Oh well, theres still a minority! hahah. Bent on not getting lost this time, i checked out my google map and remembered a few landmarks as a guideline. Set off after breakfast, praying that the weather will stay nice and pretty. (weather here is pretty erratic, one moment its raining, the next its snowing, before you know it, the sun is shinning again). Checked the temperature, at 11 celcius, i kept my outer coat in my bag, just in case. Armed with my Slr and a full stomach, i headed north. 20 mins into my walking, noticed the Maximilian palace, which was not suppose to appear. My gold fish brain has failed me once more. Decided the best way was to follow the river since the garden was in the downflow of the river. Trekked for another hour and the park was still not in sight, instead ended up at a club. Asked a kind gentleman in the club for
direction and walked for another 10 mins before i finally saw it.

At this time of the year, all the trees are bare, kinda sad. Wonder why people come to this park at this time of the year. Walked a little further before i came to this open air field. I was breadthless. Literally, after having walked 5 kilometers in the dry air, but mainly because of the sight that greeted me. Although it was noon, the sun was shining like it was in the morning, soft and warm. Super pretty. Elderly couples walk hand in hand, children sitting on their parents shoulders, couples lying in the open basking in the soft warm sun, spanish guitar buskers playing on the bridges. I followed the little stream before coming to a lake. It was full of life. There were so many ducks, swans! Away in the middle of the glittering water were couples rowing boats. Really a beautiful sight. My pictures do not do justice to the sights i saw. Anyway, after strolling round the lake and taking almost a hundred photos, i decided to head back. Its lunch time and my feet are blistering. On my way out of the park, came these 2 kids, one on a bike, another on rollerskates. Really cute. So i took out my camera and took a picture of them. They stopped and started whispering to each other while looking at me. As i approached, the two started gesturing at each other as if deciding who should be the one to stop me, then the boy looked at me and asked "Hast du ein Foto von uns machen???" ( have you taken a picture of us?) I laughed and replied "Ja! Schuaen sie?" And showed them the picture. They exclaimed in excitement. So cute! They asked if i was from Japan. =x Said no, from Singapur, bet they never heard of that before. As i walked away, could hear them shouting to their parents that i took a picture them! Got a picture here, go look at their expressions!
Oh yes, one more thing, i swear i saw a lion in the park.
