Munich like any other European cities, is thriving with historical sites. Like any other historical sites, will there be a museum standing right next to it. Today i paid a visit to one of the biggest Museum in Munich, the Deutsche Museum after my German class. Frankly i am not a museum person, but since my dear Italian friend invited me to go along with him, i thought why not? After a quick Kebab lunch after class, we made our way to the Museum, situated about 4 tram stops from my place. The museum closes at 5, and by the time we arrived, it was already 2 pm. so 3 hours i thought would be enough. Nothing prepared me for the magnitude of the Museum. It is a combination of 3 buildings worth of exhibitions, and what didn't help with the speed was that some exhibitions are only described in german. Although i could understand a little, it was painfully slow. Nothing much to photograph in this museum, though allowed, but i don't think anyone would be interested in the molecular models behind glass. As an avid photographer, i took some anyhow. one thing i learnt from the exhibition was how the older cameras work, those with a section that looks like the middle of a bendy bus. For some of the exhibitions were there minatures models of the exhibition, for example a farmhouse, how the farm house look like, or a scaled model of a beer factory in the 1800s. I am for some unknown reason, very very attracted to these scaled models. So took quite a few photos. Nothing fantastic on picture i must say. After the 3 hours, we covered only 1 and a half story worth of exhibition, in one building. i wouldn't say its fun, but it certainly beats sitting infront of the computer surfing businessweek.com or toytowngermany.com. The weather was perfect today. Sky was clear of haze and fog, sun was beaming through the clouds. Unfortunately i was too tired to make my way to anywhere else. Went back and took a short nap which became a 2 hours nap, waking up with a bad headache. Despite the headache, i managed to cook up a sumptous meal, consisting of my ever favourite vegetables, broccoli and mushroom with oyster sauce and sesame oil. After 3 weeks of experiment, its now edible =) Cooked some onions till they were browned and mixed them with my rice. For those of you who never try that before, its damn good! Altogether topped with chicken marinated in soy sauce, salt, pepper, oyster sauce, sesame oil on my onion rice. WOOT. Not forgetting a cup of pepsi. Total time spent on preparing, cooking and cleaning? 1 and a half hour. =( but it was worth the effort.
